Celebrate Life

When I was going through my breast cancer journey, a friend gave me a sign that said – “Celebrate Life.” I really did not understand it at the time but after chemo and radiation, I began to see the big picture. Life. Celebrate. Celebrate Life. It hit me! Psalm 118:24 says, “This is the day the LORD has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it.” That is what God desires for ALL of us who have faith in His Son, Jesus Christ, but sometimes it takes a disease, a loss, a bad relationship, etc. to wake us up. Have you had a wake-up call and did you accept it or reject it? Share with me if you have time about your wake-up call.
The morning after our recent election, God gave me a wake-up call. He was calling me out of my comfort zone to lead a Mom’s Day of Prayer in Washington, D.C. on the capitol grounds. I had no idea how this would look but I knew He was calling me to “walk by faith and not by sight.” As I drank my coffee that morning and my husband drank his chocolate milk, I said to him, “I need to go to Washington, D.C. on January 19, 2013 to hold a MDOP – can I go?” His immediate response was, “Great. Go!” There was no doubt in my mind at that moment the journey was beginning.
Where is God taking you today? Take a moment to talk to Him about your life. Go to the park, by the river or lake, in your yard in a chair, in your vehicle while you wait on your child, get up early, stay up late – find a place to talk to Jesus.
